However, I try my best to keep my mouth shut around my friends who do like it. Because I'm polite, and I respect them and I enjoy my friendship with those people.
Apparantly, others do not have this curtesy.
A friend of mine may quit cosplaying because some twihard told her that it was geeky and stupid (in a presumably catty and rude fashion) in response to my friend going on a twilight hate-rant. This is really none of my business, but it angers me so much, I cannot keep quiet about it.
So what if cosplaying is dorky? That's the POINT. And really, is it any less stupid than fangirling over a stalker of a sparkling vampire? It's just as time-consuming and makes you just as much of a closet case. Actually, scratch that, cosplaying gives you more of a social life and can actually encourage getting into a relationship with someone, as a young lady is more likely to snag a significant other by cosplaying his favorite anime babe rather than comparing him to a fictional vampire. It's still a rather pathetic alternative to talking to someone you like for them, but it's still a better strategy.
And let's not forget that there are Twilight cosplayers too. But I bet that twihard would be quicker to defend some dude in an Edward Cullen wig than a flawless Revolutionary War England cosplayer.
Please remember this isn't an attack at anyone in particular other than that one idiot who thinks their shit doesn't stink because they want to be knocked out in the process of losing their virginity to a sparkly-cocked faggot.
